Draw bridge operation and traffic flow restored

Peoples Gas completed the repair and bypass of a 10-inch natural gas pipeline damaged by a third-party construction crew. In addition, work to fully restore and clean-up the worksite on and around the draw bridge at NW 22nd Avenue will continue in coordination with City of Miami officials.

Throughout the nearly two-week project, Peoples Gas has been closely coordinated with the U.S. Coast Guard, Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami Police, Fire, Public Works and Emergency Operations Departments to ensure there were no public safety concerns.

“To successfully complete this type of repair as safely and efficiently as we did is a testament to the dedication, collaboration, and perseverance of everyone who came together and worked so hard around the clock,” said Helen Wesley, President and CEO of Peoples Gas. “We truly appreciate the cooperation and patience of our customers, all the city and county personnel, and the surrounding downtown Miami community impacted by the disruption.”
