Residential customers expect more offerings, convenience and sustainability
TECO Peoples Gas again was designated a Customer Champion by Escalent, a behavior and analytics firm that conducts the annual Cogent Syndicated Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement studies.
The honor is given each year to utilities with exceptional performance in brand trust, service satisfaction and product experience – three categories that compose the Engaged Customer Relationship (ECR) index. Peoples Gas led the nation with the highest ECR score out of the 140 electric, natural gas and combination utilities in the survey.
“We are committed to being an energy partner with our 400,000 customers across Florida and to provide them with the energy solutions they want and need,” said T.J. Szelistowski, president of Peoples Gas. “We are proud to be recognized for our efforts as we continue to make investments in our systems and look for new ways to serve our customers with safe, reliable and environmentally friendly natural gas.”
The Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement™: Residential study provides a comprehensive view into utilities’ relationships with their residential customers. This year’s study showed that increased customer satisfaction is directly related to value-added offerings and services. Digital convenience and social responsibility are particularly appealing to customers who are Younger Millennials and Generation Zers. Peoples Gas recently enhanced its online account earlier in the year based on customer feedback, and is committed to bringing Floridians innovative and cleaner energy solutions such as renewable natural gas.
More than 67,000 residential utility customers responded to the survey.
Earlier this year, Peoples Gas received the highest overall score in the nation for the fifth year in a row in the study and also was designated an Environmental Champion.
Peoples Gas System, Florida’s largest natural gas distribution utility, serves about 400,000 customers across Florida. Peoples Gas is a subsidiary of Emera Inc., a geographically diverse energy and services company headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
