TECO Peoples Gas Outage Update #8
TAMPA, May 21, 2010
Natural gas restoration efforts are progressing in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Lake Park and unincorporated Palm Beach County.
As of 3 p.m. today, restoration crews have visited 100 percent of the commercial and 68 percent of the residential customers, representing approximately 70 percent of the 10,500 affected customers. To be clear, all customers visited are not turned-on due to no one being present or the account being seasonal.
Gas is now flowing to more than 30 percent of the residential and 99 percent of commercial premises.
As the company completes this final re-lighting stage, it reminds its customers that:
- Access to homes or businesses is necessary so that technicians can re-light appliances and perform safety checks.
- Door hangers listing a Peoples Gas phone number will be left for customers who are not at home.
It is expected that all customer premises will be visited before noon Saturday. Special teams will be dispatched to re-visit customers not restored during the initial visit.
